Who are we?
ScopeLock Security Systems, Inc. manufactures and markets a new, patented security gate and traffic control device that can be used for many varied and diversified applications.
Our History:
The idea for ScopeLock began in 1970 when David L. Stice, president and founder, was with a friend whose vehicle was stolen in what was thought to be a “secured parking area” in an apartment complex. At that time, in Houston , Texas , 5,000 automobiles per day were stolen. The friend went on to say how unhappy he was that he could never find a parking spot close to his apartment because other residences who had friends tended to get his spot. Mr. Stice began to develop a new bollard that would come up out of the ground when in use, approximately 30 inches in height, behind the parked vehicle, eliminating any possibility of being stolen. The bollard would also secure the customers parking, allowing no one without proper authorization to occupy the space designated.
The first ScopeLock models were not automated and had to be manually operated with a key. In April of 1990, Mr. Stice secured a patent (#4,919563) on his new automated ScopeLock model. After 10 years of testing, engineering, and perfecting the product the company was ready to roll out this concept on a national level.
ScopeLock Security Systems, Inc. contracts out the electronic accessory control components that operate the units. Your company can choose to either use our recommended company or bid out the electronics with another vendor.
ScopeLock Security Systems, Inc. markets our product for theft control, secured parking areas, real or implied security into entry/exit ways, a choice of pedestrian or vehicular traffic, boat hitches, rail road applications and ingress/egress traffic counter flow lanes. Our company manufactures gating applications where architectural esthetics is of importance.
Our marketing strategy is easy. We build the ScopeLock units and our distributors sell them to the end user. Our company is taking our product and introducing this concept to companies in hopes of expanding their current product lines. Our product serves as a compliment to the gating industry.
